what swimming does for me

Here fishy, fishy....

what swimming does for me

it energizes me. the swim itself can be draining and the feeling immediately afterwards is usually kinda exhausted but after a recovery, i am supercharged unlike anything i've gotten from running.

does swimming give anyone else extra energy? :pharlene: i can't stop.

I find swimming has become a "recovery" workout for me. I've logged some harder workouts this week, and after this morning's 2500m swim, I feel primed and ready to go.

Except for the chlorine...

I just get very hungry!

I'm dealing with a lot of cramping. I can run for hours without fluids, but even with water/gatorade at poolside, when I get to an hour of swimming........I feel them coming. when the coach makes me add fast stuff at the end, I'm toast. One other guy has the same problem

I started taking a salt cap before swims. No more cramps. I never cramp on the run either. :?

HEY! I'm in the swimming forum without my floaties!! Woohoo!!!

So my new place has a sweet pool and I've swam 7 days in a row and I LOVE it. I feel I'm getting better and am able to increase my number of laps each day.

Someone mentioned less kicking and more arm strength and that seems to have helped me tremendously.
Chuck Norris is so fast, he can run around the world and punch himself in the back of the head.

Ditto on the energizing AND the super hungries. After a run, I feel wiped out and nauseous if I even think about eating, but after I get out of the pool I am starving. I love swimming, too bad I hate cycling with a passion.
