The surprise here was the middle mile, run along Atlantic Street (going along said water). Actually, the water visited the road. There were some nice winds out of the north whipping up waves. Said waves came over the breakwater and half-flooded the road. In essence, mile two was run through water and seaweed. I was a little concerned the latter would make things slick on the road, but not so.
Very happy to have had a small pack of five or six others from about a half-mile out to the end. Lots of going back and forth in the group. Usually it's the front group, an open space, me, another open space, and the stragglers. This was a nice change.
Time 29:28. 23rd overall, 3rd in AG (the third straight race I've placed in AG). Given it was cold, 34 with said winds, and the Atlantic Street situation, I'm quite happy.
P.S. - For all you South Park fans: When the results were posted, LC pointed out that in the overall results, I finished two positions behind Butters.
